Renting a Car With no Credit Card

Securing a car hire for a business trip or a vacation is just a smart thing to do for many reasons. For one, it relieves the family vehicle of the stress that vacationing sometimes puts on the motor. Secondly, you get to experience that “new car” smell and spend a few days in something different. Changing the scenery is always good, even in the car. Many car hire companies are now refusing to rent vehicles to people who do not have credit cards. That’s a serious problem because not all Canadian citizens own a credit card. If you are part of the “no credit card” class, you can try these alternatives to secure a car hire:

Asking a Friend or Relative

Your spouse, relative or friend may be able to help you if you ask for it. What you would need to do is have that person go into the car hire Sydney company’s office with his or her license, proof of address, credit card and the like. The rental may cost you extra because whomever rents the car will have to add you as a driver. Asking someone else to rent the car for you is one of the easiest ways you can get a car quickly. If you don’t have friends and family, you can try one of the other methods.

Searching for Companies That Accept Debit Cards

The numbers may be a little low, but there are still some companies that will rent vehicles to people who have debit cards instead of credit cards. Logically, that still makes sense to some companies because debit card money is really there. A debit card rental may have stricter security deposit requirements than a credit card rental may have, however. For example, the car hire company may want to secure $500 instead of $250.

Start Looking for a Cash Deposit Provider

You may be a person who does not have a credit car or a debit card. If you do not have a debit card or a credit card to secure your car hire, you are going to have to search for a company that takes cash deposits. Finding such a company is like finding a needle in a haystack, but a few still exist. Just like the debit card deposit, the cash deposit may be extremely high. You may have to give up three times the amount in cash that a credit card deposit would equal, but it will be worth it to get your rental car.

Now you know of just a few ways that you can rent a car if you do not have a credit card. Hopefully your trip will be enjoyable and you will have fun riding around in the car that you rent.
